The Reiver . . . fashion greatness from Sero. - Carolina is the golfing show- place of America and Rocky Mount is doing its part. For any young person who would like to get Into shape, there are many places where he can improve his handicap. If you would like to work on your game, go out to the Ru-Bob par three golf course where you can drive on the range or you can work on your game on a nine hole course. This course will help you with your irons. If you would like to try some thing a little more difficult, go out to Peachtree Hills in Spring Hope where you can play on a par 72 course for just three dollars for all day. For the lazy ones, you can rent a golf cart for a reasonable price. Other places around are Green Hills in Nashville, which Is a beautiful 18 hole course; also Maccro Pines in PInetops will suit your needs with another 18 hole course which Is probably the hardest of all of them. Fishing The shad are beginlnng to hit the darts around Tar River and the anglers are plentiful. This is probably the most pop ular fishing of all around this area and shad Is probably the fish with the most spunk in this area. If you would like to try your luck at some other species, go bass fishing, March and April of the year are the best times for these fish. Senior Jeff Land is a newcomer to the trampoline but plans to be one of the best when he leaves. (Photo by Burnette) Trampoline Adds Delight To Phy. Ed. Department With Rocky Mount Senior High only in existence for two years, many things have been accom plished in the athletic depart ment. Last year the school opened a wrestling team for a minor sport and with the funds from sports, a trampoline has been purchased. Coach Dave Atkinson receiv ed the $890 jump set about the second week in March. Since then, the tramp has been intro duced into the physical educa tion program and the students are overwhelmed with It. With so many people taking the program this year, the school thought it was necessary to bring in a new kind of acti vity to keep the students In phy sical education. It has not been said or at tained how the trampoline was purchased but It is generally assumed that the trampoline was purchased through the be nefits of the football team. This years squad brought the atletic department out of financial trouble and possibly enabled them to purchased some new equipment for the students. This year's football team made thou sands of dollars alone just on the last game with Wilson. The Physical Education de partment Is making a gallant try to put more interest in the department so that students will not be bored and will enjoy taking “Gym” not only because they need it but that it will be enjoyable for them. “Lpt’s see . .. mini car going over maxie ... ” ' Copv'>ghi by S*'o ot N*w H«v«n Ine 1M4 n ROSCOE GRIFFIN ^ TRY REFRESHING M SHOE GO. isUN dropI featuring Adore, Edith Henry, SRO, and Life Stride Shoes S Raleigh Rd.
