Sidney Armstronc is seen worliing in the supply room at Nash General Hospital. -s » Students Participate In Health Care Students from Rocky Mount Senior High School now serve at Westgate Nursing Home on Monday and Tuesday morn ings. They help at Nash General Hospital on Wednesday and Thursday mornings where they are assigned to different areas. Some students do volunteer services while others assist the nurses. Students are working in the Dietary Department, Cen tral Supply Department, and Inhalation Therapy Department. Also on Wednesday and Thursday mornings one girl works in Dr. Julian Fisher’s dental office while another girl goes to Dr. James Cameron’s dental office. One girl helps at Sunset Veternarian Hospital. Mrs. Margie Brantley teaches H02, an educational program for young men and women in high school. The courses are designed to stimulate student interests in the health field and to help in preparing for further education for jobs as health assistants. Mrs. Brantley also teaches HOI, a course needed before taking H02. Students planning on taking Health Occupations should have a sincere interest in helping people and a mature attitude for learning. They should be in good health. Learning is stimulated through lectures, class discus sions, field trips, role-playing and innumerable visual aids. Two credits are given for H02 because it involves two class periods.
