Page 8 THE FULL MOON March, 192S. THE GIRLS OF SENIOR CLASS ENTERTAIN THE BOYS The girls of the Senior Class en tertained the boys of the class and the teachers at a George Washington party Monday night, February 23 at the home of Creelman Rowland. The house was attractively decorated with hatchets and flags appropriate for he occasion. Hearts dice was played at seven tables. This was foMowed by progressive conversation. The most entertaining feature of the evening was a mock wedding, in which Miss Brabham and Mr. Teeter were joined in the holy bonds of matrimony. The other participants in the wedding were as follows: Bride’s father, Ray mond Snyder; best man, Arthur Pat terson; minister, Ernest Wheat’ey; dames of honor. Miss Rigby, Miss Wessinger; maid of honor, Mrs. Cub- bage, Pauline Ingram; bride’s maids, Essie Lowder, Ora Mae Hill, Doletta Bost; groomsmen, George Snuggs, Delmar Turner, Mr. Cubbage, Jack Skidmore; ring bearer, Louise Park er; flower girl, Edith Widenhouse. Just prior to the ceremony Mr. Bumgarner sang, “The Fight Is On,” in his usual charming manner, accom panied on the piano by Martha Aus tin. The bridal party entered to the strains of “Charley, My Boy.” “Doo dle Doo-Doo” was jazzily played dur ing the ceremony. The impressive ring ceremony was used with Rev. Er nest Wheatley, officiating. Refreshments consisting of ice cream, topped with cherries, and hatchet cakes were served. Miniature hatchets were given as favors.—E. Widenhouse. A Stary. Six-year-old Mary awoke at 2 o’clock in the morning. “Tell me a story, mamma,” she pleaded. “Hush, dear,” said the mother, “daddy will be in soon and tell us both one.” Humoring the Patient. Doctor—“Your master is decidedly better, Thompson, but very irritable. He mustn’t be thwarted. Thompson—“He expressed a desire to wring my neck, sir.” Doctor—“Well—ah—humor him.” I EFIRD’S i DECLAMER’S CONTESTS TO BE HELD SOON (Roy Whitley.) This year we have received a num ber of letters from the different col leges of the state inviting us to send a representative to each one to par ticipate in the annual declamation contest. At Lenoir-Rhyne College the con test will be held on March 27. This date coincides with the triangular de bate. Last year the writer was the rep resentative at that college. A good time was given him, and it was a pleasure to him to be there. The contest will be held some time in April at Wake Forest. The exact date is not known by the writer. We did not have a representative at that college last year. It is not known as yet who will be the representative this year. A call for them will probably be issued at an early date. yi !fi ifi yi iii Hi ifi >ii yi yi yi yi yi yi yi yi yi yi yi yi yi yi yi yi yi yi yi yi yi yi Hegdquarters for LADIES’ READY-TO-WEAR.
