Woman Undertaker Enjoys Huge Success Miss Marie Deese after seven years of hard study of the art of undertaking, has “undertook” more than 350 people since her graduation. She states that she enjoys her work and also her cheerful surroundings. Miss Deese is assisted by Miss Annabel Perry. Pianist Visiting Hometown Miss Catherine Whitley is visit ing in Albemarle after her voyage abroad. Miss Whitley has played before the king and queen of Eng land and also attracted thousands when she presented her concert in FTance. Famous Couple Visits Albemarle Albemarle’s own Barbara Hut ton, Edith Kennedy, who has just received her fifth divorce in Reno, is visiting a few days in Albemarle. She is accompanied by Jack Cas- tevens, former Duke graduate and football star, who is now replacing Robert Taylor in Hollywood. Senior Class of 1950 The class of 1950 of Albemarle High School in regular meeting this morning elected the red-head ed twins of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Lowder as their mascots. Mrs. Lowder is pleasantly remembered by her former friends as Miss Phenie Whitley, High School ten nis star. Final List Of County Teachers Made Public By Superintendent In addition to the teachers an nounced last week, the county superintendent announces that the following teachers will fill the fol lowing positions: Big Lick—Number 1 Miss Amy Fry will teach the first through fourth grade. Miss Jolene Fry the fifth through seventh. Big Lick—Number 2 Miss Annie Ruth Smith will teach the first through third. Miss Mary Hill the fourth through seventh. Big Lick—Number 3 Miss Betty Mae Watts will teach first through fourth grades. Miss Elizabeth Jenkins will teach fourth through seventh. Miss Cozette Marshall will teach all the grades at Big Lick. At Porters, Mr. Charles Gibson Beatty will teach all seven grades.
