Nationally Profninent Virginia Safrit Virginia Safrit is better known to her many friends as “Ginny”. Throughout her school career “Gin- h5^” has been very active, holding the position as manager of the girls’ basketball team for three years. This in itself shows that she is capable and dependable. She is also a member of the National llonor society and president of the Girls’ Athletic association. Her clubs this year are Physical Culture, Booster and Black Masque Dramatic. Richard Greene, Loretta Young and Mickey Rooney are her favor ite movie stars and Glenn Miller is a favorite orchestra leader. Her likes she lists as: chocolate pie, basketball, sleeping, and studying. Silly people, spinach and liars are her dislikes. If she were given a million dol lars, “Ginny” says she would buy a lot of pretty clothes and take a trip around the world (after the war is over). “Ginny’s” favorite outfit is a skirt and sweater (with her A on it) and saddle shoes. “As for boys, I think they’re all tops!” she said. She is an attractive girl with lots of personality, making her one of the most popular girls in the eleventh grade. Compliments of .. . M. & D. Hair Black Eyes Brown Star of football and basketball Pastime loafing To almost anyone this would be Lafayette Blackwell, one of the best all-round, most popular boys in the eleventh grade. This year he is president of Miss Powell’s home room and sec retary of the band. His dislikes are conceited peo ple, and his likes, girls (!!), sleep, steaks and good music. He is known by his good looks and personality. An all-around good sport, Laffy is a three-letter man. He was one of the best football players last season, playing halfback. Basket ball found him a guard on the quintet. Lafayette plays tennis and baseball, too, but is not out for either team this spring. He says that football is definitely his favor ite sport. To marry a girl with lots of money and settle down to a life of leisure is his ambition. Next year Laffy plans to return to the twelfth grade, and after graduation he hopes to go to Caro lina. » mMH.
