Uncle Sam’s Boys Quite Versatile It was evident at the Albemarle- Wadesboro game that Uncle Sam’s men can do more than “tote” a gun. At the half of the game, they not only paraded with the band and led cheers, but they also gave an exhibition of passing on the field. Some of the “army boys” could really handle a football and had probably played in high school or college. The others were just clowning and provided much enter tainment for the crowd. Two outstanding changes in A. H. S. are that report cards will be issued every six weeks instead of every nine weeks and that the eleventh graders are occupying the balcony and the tenth graders have been brought downstairs. Hard Heads Are Useful During football practice the oth- day, there was a good hard-head demonstration. A play had just been run, and a pass had been thrown down the field. When the pass was thrown back in, Hootchie Morgan, who was standing around loafing, was hit on the head by the ball. Everybody laughed and one boy yelled, “Hey, Hootchie, that ball hit your head.” Hootchie turned around, acting mildly surprised and said, “Oh, did Ouch!” “Jack was the goal of my ambi- She sighed, “but, alas.” “What happened, dear?” “Father kicked the goal.” Grab a Snack — from — Our Lunch Counter Terminal Sandwich Shop Buy Defense Savings Bonds First National Bank Albemarle Bulldogs Defeat Troy Trojans by Score 38-0 Bulldogs Win Their Second Game of Year.
