The program was as follows: “Fanfare for Christmas Day,” Martin Shaw; “O Come All Ye Faithful,” arr. by Robert Shaw; “Luther's Cradle Hymn,” arr. by Roy Ringwald; “Carol of the Bells,” Leontovich (Wilhousky). According to Mr. Fry the cho rus has had a very busy season. On December 10 they presented a program of Christmas music to the Lions Club. The following programs were presented by the group on De cember 12, 14, 18, respectively: Assembly program. Drama'I’ics Club Tries New Plan The Black Masque Dramatic Club has had a successful year, so far, and plans look even brighter. A membership fee of 25 cents is being charged this year. This money is going to take care of the play books so that the cast will not have to pay to be in a play. Criticism papers, a new plan of Miss Bankett’s, were passed out to members of the club at its last, meeting. Questions were asked such as. Who was the best actor, actress, the worst actor, actress, and what can be done to improve the plays and the clubs. These papers help Miss Bankett to know what needs to be done to make plays and the Studen'I's Discuss Guidance Lessons “Guidance programs went over very well last month,” report teachers, “and promise to do just as well in the month of De cember.” The topic for the ninth grade this month will be “What Good is High School?” The students of one home room plan to list just what’s right and wrong with high school in their opinion, measure them beside each oth er to see just which one has the advantage. The climax of the study will be ideas on how one can have real fun in school with out its being objectionable to someone. The tenth grade will be dis cussing “You and Your Mental Ability.” The purpose of this program is to encourage students to work fully up to their mental capacities. Also to be discussed by the tenth grade is “Why Stay in School?”, intended to point out the many advantages gain ed by a high school diploma and also a college diploma. Topic of the month in the 11th grade will be “Money and You.” If anybody has any money, this will show you how to manage it, discuss the value of allowances and bank accounts. For the month of December, the seniors will be talking over “Preparing for Marriage,” con taining the solution to many problems that may arise in fu ture days. club more interesting so more students will take part. Plans for the senior play are underway now. Tragedy Strikes Rollo and Suzette, the two gold fish in the play, “Scram bled Eggs,” died November 15, following their appearance on Friday here at A.H.S. Their attending physician and owner, Patsy Wilhelm, gave no reason for their sudden death. Investigations proved that the fish had been placed in a sweet relish jar from the A.H.S. cafe teria early Friday morning, No vember 14. No charges were passed against the cafeteria be cause the play cast decided that success just went to the fish’s heads. Mr. Grigg attended the super intendent’s meeting in High Point recently.
