Susie Swaringen Winner Of Award Susie Swaringen has been named Home Maker of Tomorrow for 1955 for Stanly county and given a gold medal. A group of interested senior girls recently took a written test on home making, the one making the highest score being acclaimed the wipner. For entering the contest the home economics department was given a Betty Crocker Cook Book, and the local winner also received a cook book plus the gold medal. All these were awarded by Gen eral Mills, wiio sponsored the con test. March 11 Susie took another written test for the state award, which is a scholarship. Future Teachers Receive Practice A practice* teaching program has been planned for the members of the FTA. Each member has been assigned to a certain elementary school in Albemarle and will teach one class a week. This program is designed to help the members gain experience that will be beneficial to them later. Plans are also underway to or ganize a county-wide FTA pro gram.
