Page 6 THE FULL MOON December 19, 1961 Bible Club Shown Slides Of Alaska Miss Almeria Gordon, Bible teacher in Charlotte schools, gave an interesting talk to the mem bers of the Bible Club on No vember 28. At this meeting. Miss Gordon told the club about her experi ences in Alaska, where she spent three years. She also showed many beautiful momentos and souvenirs which are typical of the ways of life of the people in Alaska. One of the main purposes of the Bible Club is to carry out worthy projects. Its Thanksgiv ing project was very successful. The name of a needy family was secured from the Welfare De partment by a member of the special projects committee. It’s certainly a good thing Christmas vacation is almost here. I need the rest. I was actually cracking up. Heaven knows what condition my teachers are in. At first I thought it had been a good first semester, full of riot and sin. Now I’m not so sure. Looking back over it all, I’m lucky to be alive. My school year really got off with a bang. I was shot at. I didn’t get a close look at her, but at least it acquainted me with the two types of teachers in this school: the armed and the unarm ed. Even yet I don’t know which teacher it was, but one of them has given me a complete Hari- Kari Kit with Suicide Note for Christmas. Then suddenly it was autumn and the smell of burning leaves and grubby football players filled the air. The leaves were so beau tiful this year and Mr. Tyson pro claimed the death of chlorophyll. To me this meant that I had to rake all the leaves up into a big pile and burn them. I did, and the leaves burned good. The garage burned good too, but the house didn’t burn so good. That is why, when you go by Heath Street to day, you will see a tepee instead of a house. Have you ever tried to put a Christmas tree up inside a tepee? I didn’t use to have to do this because we had a cedar tree growing in our living room. My last year’s Christmas was such fun; even the presents I re ceived was a laugh. Santa Claus FHA Queen Rode In Annual Parade As F.H.A. Queen, Drienda Har ley rode in the Christmas parade on November 27. Drienda was elected by the members of F.H.A. As their chap ter F.H.A. Queen on November 21. Drienda, a Junior, is vice-presi- dent of F.H.A., treasurer of Li brary Club, and a member of Boosters Club. The F.H.A. Club met with the New London Chapter on Decem ber 4. - “Holiday Ideas” was the theme of the program. Refreshments of punch, peppermint sticks and cook ies were served. Several of the home economics classes have taken a trip to the “Christmas Idea House” sponsored by Home Demonstration Clubs. didn’t put anything in my stocking, though. My father was still in it. I gave several people presents, too. I gave Steve Burleson a gold record for selling his millionth re cording of “In the Still of the Night.” I should know, because I bought them every one and smashed them. I gave a Senior girl a hacksaw so she can saw her way out of prison. You see she was doing her Christmas shopping a little too early. They caught her in the store before it opened. I gave Johnny and Jerry Maul din to Johnny Furr to use as bookends. My Grandma gave me a free ride in her taxi and Sylvia Wall gave me the Great Wall of China. The Mad Hermit of Mudd Island gave me some mud, and best of all—Mickey Mauldin gave me a great big bowl of Hoover Gravy. Compliments of E. B. STONE FINANCE CO. Financing . . .
