IFULL MOON Volume 2, No. 6 311 Palestine Road ALBEMARLE SENIOR HIGH NEWSPAPER Albemarle, N.C. 28001 982-3711 A Night In Camelot By ADAM LEMARR On Saturday, April 19th, the 1986 Albe marle Senior High School prom was held. The night started at 8:00 p.m. and ended at 12:00 a.m. As always, the Juniors were in charge of taking on the task of renovating the gym into the theme, which this year was “Camelot”. Mrs. Burleson led the group of twenty-five Juniors and Sophomores. With a “Knight-in-shining-armour”, shields, and a number of other medieval decora tions, the gym was turned into a fifteenth Century castle. When the guests arrived at the prom they were greeted at the door and had the choice of strawberry punch, vegetables and dip, and finger sandwiches to choose from. These delights were provided by caring mothers of the prom committee. Next came the dancing. This proved to be different than in recent years. Instead of a live band, a D.J. was hired to provide the music. “Cap’n Sam” cranked up a variety of hits that everyone could enjoy. According to Michael Snyder, “I ® night life, I love to boogie, so I really had an unforgettable time.” The night seemed to end almost as soon as it had started. The last song was played and everyone had to leave one of the best times they had had in a while. Some called it a night, while others were just getting Albemarle couples dress to impress. started. Either way, everyone agreed that it was the best prom the school has had m a long time. Around 10:00 o’clock, the Prom King and Queen were announced by Mr. Morgan. Janna Efird, Traci Hatley, Margaret Morgan, Tammy Page, and Sarah Thomas were nominated for Prom Queen. Roge Brafford, Efird Cato, Brad Childress, Mike Furr, and Mike Hogan were the nominees for Prom King. Brad Childress and Tammy Page were selected as “King and Queen”. Tammy and Brad led the court, which consisted of the remainiing eight nominees, in a dance.
