April, 1988 "A %A/tS Disco Inferno By VALERIE HAYNES Spring is almost here, and what else are all high school students startmg to think about than . . . THE PROM. This year Mrs. Burleson and the junior class have decided to do things a little differently. Instead of iHking th0 traditional gymnasium route, they’ve decided to add a touch of class to the prom by holding it at Ladies & Gents, a rocking local club The theme will be “Saturday Night Fever-Disco Inferno.” Eon, com posed of a group of local musicians, will open with a few Bee Gees tunes, then Gallery, led by our own Mr. Hedrick, will take over and boogie the night away. If possible, a large screen T.V. will be set up on which exciting scenes from the original mo tion picture “Saturday Night Fever” will be shown. The junior class ex pressed their regret that the original ly scheduled band, Bad Genes, was unavailable due to Scott Gresham’s nasty case of a certain disease that is running rampant at AHS. They would also like to wish Scott a quick recovery. Decorations for the prom will include life-sized posters of John K ^ rotating disco ball. The home economics depart ment will supply a bevy of tantaliz ing culinary delights.
