That means its time to dress-up and go trick or treating. Yeah right, we all know we stoppediloing that a long time ago. Or at least maybe some of us did. These days for Hallow een we do a little more creative things. Well, it may not be fun if it happens to you. Some people like to egg their favorite person's house or maybe . Beth and Angie have some fun. Kctidtit! By Kellie Palmer Of all the faculty members here at AHS, one “1 particular deserves recognition. Many of you *^ow him as the hilarious man on the micro phone at athletic events, others as the dedicated leader, while others simply know him as ^ary Moran (a.k.a. The Drama Teacher). As •'lany have seen, Mr. Moran can definitely put on ® show. Whether he’s telling a funny story or sitnply being himself, it is obvious that Mr. ^oran is a great actor. Well, to my surprise, Mr. Moran got a very ®arly start on his acting career. Try second grade. faked a sickness so he would not have to go to *^hool, and his mother believed him; he knew he "’anted to act. Mr. Moran got his first real role, *^ough, in graduate school in 1974. His first role "'as playing Wally, Emily’s brother mOurTown. Moran claims this was not one of his best •■oles, "I had one line and screwed it up the first P'^formance.” We’re glad to know that he has improved Srcaily and has now appeared in 18 to 20 plays. says his favorite roles include “Lucien”- the *®verly retarded adult in The Boys Next Door, “Fagan"- the old pickpocket in Oliver. When ®*l^cd about a role he would like to play but has had the chance he replies, “Someday I want ^ Captain Hook in ‘Peter Pan’.” As Mr. Moran strives to reach this goal, he is busy with a group of his own. While working here at AHS, Mr. Moran finds the time to partici pate in the Uwharrie Players. Since he got his first role in the Uwharrie Players in 1982, Mr. Moran has been a faithful participant. His first role included the lead part, Charlie Brown, in You’re a Good Man. Charlie Brown. Now. he is working on a production scheduled Oct. 27, 28, 29, and Nov. 3,4,5. He will portray a lunatic, Boris Renfield,in Dracula, the Musical. So, come out and support Mr. Moran as he makes his debut on the dates listed above. i by Kellie Palmer a car. Maybe some of you like to get a bit more artistic and roll people’s yards all night And for the people who have creative minds, maybe you go around and jump out of bushes with your Halloween masks on and scare people. Well, whatever you decide to do this Halloween, maybe you can take a few ideas from these AHS students. Here’s what a few of the students have done over the past Halloweens: Alison Burpeau, Gina Taylor, Leigh Anne Mills: Splattered dog waste on some loser’s front door. Jeremy Clark and Brent Whitley: Stole pump kins in neighborhood and made a road block; then got chased by the police. Jason Pinion: Put a snake oh someone’s toilet. Brian Stoker: Jumped out of trees and scared people. Tammy Hinson: Egged someone’s house. J.D. Russell: Put dog waste in some friend’s mailbox. Seth Mabry: Stole people's license plates. Dustin Poplin; Stole people’s candy. Christy Mason: Had someone call her best friend and told her that she got murdered and got her very upset. Brico Flake: Dressed up like a giri. What is your color? Have you ever been asked this? Well, all people have a color that suits their p>ersonality and reflects the type of person they are. Colors are much like horoscopes, except they describe your characteristics instead of predicting your future. So what color are you? The first color is blue. You are sympathetic and personal. You look for significance and meaning in life. You are a contributor and an idealist, and you are very spiritual. You see the need for unity in relationships and find you are peaceful and flexible. You are romantic and a nurturer. The second color is green. You are analytical and seek knowledge and understanding. You are calm and collected, and live life by your own standards. You are logical, needing explanations and answers. You value insight and justice and are one who is investigative. You are a problem solver and a natural non-conformist. The third color is gold. You are loyal and dependable and feel the need to follow rules. You know what is right and wrong in life, and f>eople know you as sensible and thorough. You feel the need to belong and are usually faithful and stable. You value family and tradition, always being caring and concerned. You are a natural parent, a helper. The last color is orange. You are sponta neous and act on a moment’s notice. You are impulsive and consider life as a game. You need fun, variety, and excitement.
