Do You Know Your Color?
by Jennifer Lowder
Well it’s back. Yes, that’s right, Halloween is
here again. That means its time to dress-up and
go trick or treating. Yeah right, we all know we
stoppediloing that a long time ago. Or at least
maybe some of us did. These days for Hallow
een we do a little more creative things. Well, it
may not be fun if it happens to you. Some people
like to egg their favorite person's house or maybe .
Beth and Angie have some fun.

Of all the faculty members here at AHS, one
“1 particular deserves recognition. Many of you
*^ow him as the hilarious man on the micro
phone at athletic events, others as the dedicated
leader, while others simply know him as
^ary Moran (a.k.a. The Drama Teacher). As
•'lany have seen, Mr. Moran can definitely put on
® show. Whether he’s telling a funny story or
sitnply being himself, it is obvious that Mr.
^oran is a great actor.
Well, to my surprise, Mr. Moran got a very
®arly start on his acting career. Try second grade.
faked a sickness so he would not have to go to
*^hool, and his mother believed him; he knew he
"’anted to act. Mr. Moran got his first real role,
*^ough, in graduate school in 1974. His first role
"'as playing Wally, Emily’s brother mOurTown.
Moran claims this was not one of his best
•■oles, "I had one line and screwed it up the first
P'^formance.”
We’re glad to know that he has improved
Srcaily and has now appeared in 18 to 20 plays.
says his favorite roles include “Lucien”- the
*®verly retarded adult in The Boys Next Door,
“Fagan"- the old pickpocket in Oliver. When
®*l^cd about a role he would like to play but has
had the chance he replies, “Someday I want
^ Captain Hook in ‘Peter Pan’.”
As Mr. Moran strives to reach this goal, he is
busy with a group of his own. While working
here at AHS, Mr. Moran finds the time to partici
pate in the Uwharrie Players. Since he got his
first role in the Uwharrie Players in 1982, Mr.
Moran has been a faithful participant. His first
role included the lead part, Charlie Brown, in
You’re a Good Man. Charlie Brown. Now. he is
working on a production scheduled Oct. 27, 28,
29, and Nov. 3,4,5. He will portray a lunatic,
Boris Renfield,in Dracula, the Musical. So,
come out and support Mr. Moran as he makes his
debut on the dates listed above.

a car. Sometimes people like to play with the law
and blow up a mailbox or five. Maybe some of
you like to get a bit more artistic and roll people’s
yards all night And for the people who have
creative minds, maybe you go around and jump
out of bushes with your Halloween masks on and
scare people. Well, whatever you decide to do
this Halloween, maybe you can take a few ideas
from these AHS students. Here’s what a few of
the students have done over the past Halloweens:
Alison Burpeau, Gina Taylor, Leigh Anne Mills:
Splattered dog waste on some loser’s front door.
Jeremy Clark and Brent Whitley: Stole pump
kins in neighborhood and made a road block;
then got chased by the police.
Jason Pinion: Put a snake oh someone’s toilet.
Brian Stoker: Jumped out of trees and scared
people.
Tammy Hinson: Egged someone’s house.
J.D. Russell: Put dog waste in some friend’s
mailbox.
Seth Mabry: Stole people's license plates.
Dustin Poplin; Stole people’s candy.
Christy Mason: Had someone call her best friend
and told her that she got murdered and got her
very upset.
Brico Flake: Dressed up like a giri.
What is your color? Have you ever been
asked this? Well, all people have a color that suits
their p>ersonality and reflects the type of person
they are. Colors are much like horoscopes,
except they describe your characteristics instead
of predicting your future. So what color are you?
The first color is blue. You are sympathetic
and personal. You look for significance and
meaning in life. You are a contributor and an
idealist, and you are very spiritual. You see the
need for unity in relationships and find you are
peaceful and flexible. You are romantic and a
nurturer.
The second color is green. You are analytical
and seek knowledge and understanding. You are
calm and collected, and live life by your own
standards. You are logical, needing explanations
and answers. You value insight and justice and
are one who is investigative. You are a problem
solver and a natural non-conformist.
The third color is gold. You are loyal and
dependable and feel the need to follow rules.
You know what is right and wrong in life, and
f>eople know you as sensible and thorough. You
feel the need to belong and are usually faithful
and stable. You value family and tradition,
always being caring and concerned. You are
a natural parent, a helper.
The last color is orange. You are sponta
neous and act on a moment’s notice. You are
impulsive and consider life as a game. You
need fun, variety, and excitement. You are
eager and bold, as well as a natural jxirformer
and competitor.
Do these people look orange and blue?
