Samantha also has done ^ array of internships to launch her career and as developed wide-ranging experience in the d of news reporting. Samantha Thompson The valedictorian and salutatorian of AHS's class of 1996 are Kendra Whittington and Mary Nance. Both Kendra and Mary have performed well not only in academics but also in extracur ricular activities. Taking part in numerous clubs, sports, and social organizations, each of the two students has taken part in many of the activities AHS has to offer. Kendra Whittington is a member of the Inter act Club, Spanish Club, National Honor Society, and Spanish National Honor Society. Recently, she has received her high school diploma in social music. Kendra has been a statistician for two years for AHS's varsity basketball teams, a captain in band, and a member of First Lu theran’s Chancel Handbell Choir and Youth Choir. Mary Nance has been a member of both the track team and cross country team for four years. She has also been a member of the basketball cheerleading squad for two years. Mary is a member of FCA. Interact Club, Spanish Club, Jr. Civitan Club, and Science Club. She is also the president of the National Honor Society, senior class vice president, and president of the Spanish National Honor Society.
