Mr. F. C, Hentz, our hone room
teacher^was absent tvro days on acco\mt
of the death of his grandmother. He was
missed by all the high school. Every
one wns ^lad when he returned to his
Manila Reese has been absent from
school for several days on account of
sickness. We all hope she is back in
school before long. Manila is missed
by the v/hole class.
The Senior Class had charge of the
chapel program on Friday, November 18.
The following program was given: first,
a black face dialog by Eugene Potts and
Malcolm Zoellnorj second, a play "The
Country Cousin" by Marveta Reese,Doris
Potts, Peggy Thompson, and Edith Crunk-
leton; third, a black face dialog* by
Barak Wright and Archie Picklesiner;
and fourth, a poem by Margaret Rogers.
Afterwards the entire school enjoyed a
short motion picture.
The Tenth Grade girls thought it
was very s^veet of Mr. Summer to give
them such a sour lemon after experi
ments in chemistry.
The latest style among the Tenth
Grade girls seems to be silk stockings
(knee length) and short dresses.
We celebrated National Education
?v’’eek as folloi^Ts: Monday afternoon at"
two-thirty, the high school gave a
program; Wednesday at tv/o-thirty, the
grammar grades gave a program, after
which tea was served by the P. T, A,
to the parents attending the exercises.
Friday morning, the entire school
marched through town. Friday afternoon
the Primary grades gave a program,v/hioh
was followed by an educational reel.
Many parents visited the school during
The Tenth Grade think that Miss
TTiitoside is trying to make up for our
Thanlcsgiving holidays by giving us
extra-long assignments this v/eek.
THE NINTH GRADE
James Hunt became so excited about
going to the imderson Fair that he
forgot that he could call Eugene up
from his own home and walked all the
way to Mr. Paul's Just to tell Eugene
he was going.
The Ninth Grade has lost a member.
Bob Osborne, v/ho moved away. He was a
good student and v/e all miss him.
The reporter looks on while;
The Humor Editor forgets where he is
and draws numerous designs on the stove,
The Eighth Grade held an election
for class officers, November 14,1938,
The following officers were elected:

Vice-President - - Marie Neely
Secretary - - -Malcolm Zoellner
Treasurer ----- Eugene Potts
As temporary chairman Albert Rogers
presided during the election of offi
cers. IrVe had an English lesson on
correct procodure and carried on 'Our
election in a business like manner.
