I shall discuss briefly some of the improvements which have been made during the past three years. A well equipped lunch room has been added, whore the pupils may get a wp^rm lunch at a very lov; price. Since 1936, the Scaly pupils have been brought to this school on busses. This helps the students to get a higher education, since there is not a high school at Scalyj and also gives us a greater enrollrient. In 1956, a radio was purchased for our school, which is educational as well as entertaining. This year through the kindness of IxT. DuPree, the pupilr have the opportu nity to take a Bible c;ourse^ At the be ginning of the school d-'c/ a short devo tional period is givan which the students take part in as well ;?.s rhe teachers. Decenber 2, 1938 During this last tv;o years a’ large num ber of books have been added to the library, among which there is a set of reference books given by Mrs. F.R.Georgia. The school also subscribes regularly to eighteen educational magazines, which circulate through both the elementary and high school departments. In 1936, a number of comfortable seats replaced the older ones in the au ditor ii.un* Two now stoves replaced the older ones. lie have a science laboratory in our school which is better equipped than the average high school laboratory. This year a static machine has been added. This machine has a number of uses; in cluding the creation of higher charges of electricity by friction. During the past three years more rock walls have been built, and more flowers and shrubbery planted* Vie ha.ve our own Mimeograph with which we print "The Mountain Trail” as well as do other necessary printing for the school, V'e thank you parents for your co operation in the past; and ask you to kindly extend it in the future that our school may keep progressing. -L.C. Nix o im' 1'^ CAN IMPROVE OTJR SCHOOL Dr, Frank Crane said, "The supreme bus iness of the school is to develop a sense of justice, the power of initia tive, independence of character, correct social and civic habits, and the ability to cooperate tovmrd the common good." Citizens everywhere now consider the school one of the essential institutions of the community. So the free public schools were begun and developod to make a more efficient citizenship. Here all are given a chance in curricular and extra-curricular activities. From the point of view of the pupil v/e find that he has several
