The Mountain Trail of these changes were: (1) Setting the school machinery act up as a permanent piece of machinery for schools so that the v/hole act will not be up foi* adoption every tv/o years. (2) Provision for district supple mentation in districts with 1,000 school population, (3) A little greater protection for tirachers in getting proper notice before they are to be relieved of their ser vices. (4) Clarification of the law at a number of points in the field of admin istration. -North Carolina Education THE jrmiOR-SENIOR BANQUET The Junior Class entertained the Seniors at the annual Junior-Senior ban quet April 12, at 7:30, The room and tables were beautifully decorated, carrying out the colors and flowers of the Senior Class in decora tions, favors and menu. The following menu was served: Grapefruit Cocktail Chicken Salad Creamed Potatoes Peas and Carrots Rolls Pickles Olives Iced Tea Ice Cream Cake Mints The setting for the banquet was an old-fashioned flov/er garden, with a pro gram carried out in connection with the flower garden idea. The guests were the members of the Junior and Senior Classes, the High School Faculty, and Mr, and Mrs, R, B, Dupree. o Commencement Plans The Commencement exercises will begin with the graduation of the Seventh Grade Friday morning, April 28, at 9:45. The Baccalaureate Sermon will be de livered by the Rev. R. B. DuPree Sunday, April 30, at 11:00 o’clock. Monday evening. May 1, at 8:00 o’clock, the Seniors will present the Senior play, "The Absent-Minded Profess or . The cast of characters are - Uncle Barney, The Absent-Minded Professor.
