HUDSON LIBRARY TO SPONSOR
DANCE
The Hudson Library Association is
sponsoring a danc.e at Helenas Barn Mon
day night, August 28th, for the benefit
of the library. The committee on ar
rangements is hoping to have a number of
special dances with prizes for each
dance.
CHECK-UP MEETING AT CLIFFSIDE
LAKE •
Approximately 150 Methodist ministers,
superannuates, laymen and their wives en
joyed a check-up meeting at Cliffside
Lake last Tuesday night. Bishop Clare
Purcell of the North Carolina Conference
was the guest speaker. This was also
the first general meeting of the North
ern and Southern ministers of the Metho
dist Church in this district, and was in
preparation for the Annual Conference
which will be held at Greensboro in Oc
tober.
HIGHLANDS LITTLE THEATRE TO PRE'^ENT
PLAY MONDAY NIGHT
The Highlands Little Theatre will
present its first play, Dulcy, by George
Kauffman and Marc Connelly, Tuesday night
August 29th, at the school theatre.
The cast is made up of people who have
had considerable stage experience, and of
others v;ho are appearing on the stage for
the first time. They are:
Anne Altstaetter, Frank Lowman, Tony
Moore, Jack H. Wilcox, Tom Fitz-Patrick,
Polly Raoul, I\fo,rgaret Rankin, Edgar Neely,
Jr., Herbert C, Milkey, Sarah Bridges
Thompson, and Henry Zoeliner.
The Little Theatre ^oup,which hopes
to include others not already aligned
with it, is anxious to promote enough
enthusiasm and interest this summer to
carry over for a full season next year,
v/ith productions at regular intervals.
Dulcy is a light comedy, the story of
a young w5fe who insists on carrying out
her well-mQanin^, but flighty and often
disastrous, notions of helping her hus
band in business. The play is directed
by Tom Fitz-Patrick, Associate Professor
of Architecture, Clems on College, who is
a charter meir.ber fjid director of the
Clemson Little Theatre,
Tickets will be on sale from Friday

Mrs. E. J. Bailey has returned to her
home in Baltimore, Md,, after a visit
with her mother, Mrs. J, A, Hines. Mrs.
Bailey stopped over a few days in Ral
eigh for a visit with her sister. Miss
Nancy Hines, en route home.
