The Mountain Trail Septembor 29, 19o THE IMTERDEPENDEKCE OF MAN UPOI'I FiAN In our study of the interdepend ence of man upon man, we must first consider our food supply as it is the ^reatost necessity of life. Wot only do the people in orir cities depenrl upon the farmers of the United States for their food,but also they depend upon the farmers of other countries because much of the food such as coffee, t3a,su'^a.r, cheese, rice, b an a na s, and ma ny other thin'^s are inported. Ne?-t in importance is our cloth- ino; supply. Not only do we depend upon f.^e factor'7 workers for the garments we wear but to the people of all nations for the raw materials which r.o to make our clothes. For instance, silk comes from China and Japan, flax fron Franco Pnd other European countr?es; thus v;e de^-end upon many men for our clothinr:. '■''e depend upon other people for much of our amuse^ient, jrames, lit- er.'’ture,and music .Authors, such as Shakesj;eare,Mark Twain, Dickens, Hawthorne, and Jburns, also musical comoo?:ors, such rs Damrosch, Wag ner, and Beethoven have given us much amuse ent. I should be ready and willinp to do my part when problems come up conce’- ninr the people of my community.
