Surely they enjoyed the tiappy event as muoh as the students did. The relationship between faculty and students seemed strengthened by coming together for a very pleasant social hour. Needless to say every one enjoyed the occasion very nmel> and an ex pression of gratitude iti due tliose who made this event possli)le for all. The barbecue was certainly a great success this year as may be testified to hy the large crowd which attended. It will be looked forward to each year and will be long remembered by those who go ou( from Meredith. VKSI'KI{ SKRVK K r(»MH'('Ti;i> HY Y. \V. A. was shown—how much more college life will mean to us by be coming members of the Y. W. A. and doing some real work for the Kingdom of God. The pageant portrayed a Freshman looking ahead four years and seeing those who had ben a fail ure or had not received the moat bene fit from their college training. Then tinally Y. W. The char acters were most skillful, and along with the elaborate costuming and wonderful music, it seemed to be al most a supertine production. Among the most out.standing songs were "Rose Marie." “Indian Love Call." "Totem Tom-Tom,” and "The Door to .My Dreams." It. Y. V. U{. Dr. Morgan was there each night with something worth while from the book "General Organization.” Our campus benefltted much by tiie study of that book last year, and it will be a groat instrument In helping our gen eral work run smoothly this session. This was indeed a banner year In this new department at Meredith Col lege, and the pupils, which numbered over two hundred, have been lllled with a desire to do better H. Y. U. work. Here’s hoping that the next ses sion of U. Y. P, U. training may be even more .successful than the past, if possible: that every girl in the Col lege may enlist in the endeavor to make Christ our campus commander. KX S. U. In simple, yet forceful words, she told us that we are princes and as such that we should exemplify Christ, the highest example of goodness and of all princely attributes, in our lives; that we should strive to follow Him, be cause it is through us, as the leaders of tomorrow, that Christ’s work Is to he accomplished: and that we should go forth with courage to arouse by our nobleness the nobleness which lies dormant in others. So great was the religious atmosphere produced that Dr. Brewer deferred making all an nouncements lest the spell should be broken. Thus we went to our classes with this message on our hearts. P’lnally, we must acknowledge that not only the message, but the person delivering it produced this reverent atmosphere. We knew that her life backed every statement she made. Then, too, it is easy to listen atten tively to one that we all love as dearly as we do Winnie. We realize what she has meant to Meredith and we welcome her at all times to our campus. JOKES The light was dim. they were so close to each other, oh, so close— those two ))eanuts in that peanut shell.
