Although unable to accept all of its invitations this year, the folk dancers, with the aid of Miss Beatrice Donley, have pre sented Christmas programs at the Raleigh Woman’s Club and in Angler and Smithfield. Spring programs have been given at Durham, Needham Broughton A W ORD TO THE WISE Say you’ve had your eye on that perfect room with all the comforts of home? Say that’s where you want to live? Well, best you get busy and get your $25 room deposit into the Bursar’s office ’cause without that little receipt your efforts are futile. If, perchance, you have found your ideal room and want to stay there, you should have trucked down to Miss Grant’s office on the 17th or 18th of April. Juniors wishing to sign up for new rooms may do so on the 24th and 25th. Sophomores have their chance on May 1st and 2nd and the Freshmen can take their pick of what is left on the 8th and 9th. All room registration will take place between 9:30 and 10:30 A.M. on Mondays and Tuesdays. High School and the State Hospital. The group plans to end its season next month with par ticipation in the May Day fes tivities and the Raleigh Music Festival. This year the group presented 22 dances at their annual con cert on April 1. Eight of these dances were entirely new this year. Others have been pre sented in previous years by the dancers and a few, such as the Highland Fling, a re perennial favorites and are performed every year. By MICKY BOWEN Since it is a well-know fact that college girls don’t wait for spring to turn their thoughts to love, we are hoping you can all devote your excess fancies this season to Everyman. The play, of course. The most famous cf the morality plays, especially at Meredith College, is being pre sented by the Little Theatre as the spring production. Spring, that is, and we’d better be having more of it than we’ve been having lately, because this play is being done with the blue sky for scenery—we hope. There will be room for every one interested to take a part, big or small, in this production. The student production of Lima Beans given in chapel recently was a very successful experiment in abstract drama and was well received by the audience. The common concep tion that drama must be like life to be entertaining was certainly belied by the delightful little play. We hope that there will be more like it. When things calm down and stop happening all at the same time, you’ll hear from us again. ’Til then, here’s to that empty chair beside you!
