Faculty Team Champs of
Basketball Intramurals
by Nancy Sparks
Basketball Intramurais,
sponsored by MRA, were held
on Monday, February 7, in the
gym. There were three tough
teams. 2nd Barefoot, Super
A’8 and VIP's (Faculty-Staff).
In the first game, the Super
A’s beat 2nd Barefoot with a
score of ll-7. Both teams
really showed some good
defense. The Super A’s then
took on the VIPs. They ran
neck and neck for the entire
game, but the VIP’s skimmed
by with a win. The score was
23-21,
The VIP’s knew that ail they
had to do was. beat 2nd
Barefoot, and they would be
the champions. The game was
harder than they thought it
would be. As they came Into
the last minute and a half, the
score was tied, 2nd Barefoot
Just could not hold on to the
ball though, and the VIP’s
went for the win. The final
score was 28-20.
The VIP’s were the champs!
The team consisted of Ginger
Barfield, Marie Chamblee. Jan
Gillean, Ann Huffman, Mary
Johnson and Rhoda ^wers.
They each won $2 gift
certificate to Swenson’s.
MRA will sponsor a singles
and doubles Ping Pong
tournament March 21-25, Start
planning to get involved!
