Being Concerned by Susan Goins For those who have discovered the pain of loving with the “eyes of your heart. ■ SQ'iiikJCH'RAW._ . ; So much pain in human hearts So much hurt In human lives. Who gave me eyes to see so clearly? Who ga\« me ears to hear each inflection of terror? Who made me understand and feel the wounds of ml II Ions? My God. let me walk superficially, through the world, Content to laugh with children Content to r^olce in the clouds Content to see the sun again and again and again. I cannot endure nor understand the misery inf licted on mankind I cannot tolerate the bruises of so many. My body aches tonight with a world's pain. I do not want to see one more tear, To hear one more tragedy, to know of another life dragged through misery beyond compretiension. I only write To avoid the peiln To escape finally the hurt To linger with the beauty that is everywtiere in the world. There are moments I want to explode. To be blasted to bits across the margents of the univrse, To feel anything but the worlds misery. For now I will look to the moon Beyond my mountains Beyond my hurt Tof>ealtheachethat vi^ll not l@aveme ^ As long as I must listen to a screaming world.
