We at The Twig feel that it is not only time to change our image but also our name. In doing so, we ask for your help. We feel this will be a posi tive change, and we will appreciate your cooperation and suppon. Please fill out one of the choices below and turn your response into your resident adviser. Thanks □ Don't change it! Here's my reason why: Some Facts On Hunger Experts disagree about the precise dt menslons of the hunger problem, but all agree that the problem has reached ca tastrophic proportions: — Betwe&i 13 and 20 million people die each year as a result of hunger and starvation. That breaks down to about 40,000 deaths per day and more than 2S per minute. Three out of every four who die are children. — More than 500 million people suffer from chronic malnutrition, with some estimates placing the number as high as one billion. That's between 10 and 20 percent of the world’s population. By even the most conservative estimates, the number of people suffering from chronic malnutrition is more than double the population of the United States. With the exception of a large-scale nu clear war, there is no other type of disas ter that even approaches hunger as a threat to human life: — More people have died of hunger in the past five years than have been Killed in all the wars of the last 150 years, — The worst natural disaster in mo dem history - a 1976 earthquake in China — klHed 242,000 people. Hunger takes that many lives every week. □ Change it! My suggestions for a new name include: r-f'1T We’re Changing Our Image.
