The Craven County Chapter of the
Meredith College Alumnae Association
encourages the public and prospective
Meredith students to meet four distin
guished professors and to view their
works. Sunday, March 2, from 2 to 4
p.m. Is reserved for this event.
All orchestral concert planned
for mid-February
The North Carolina Symphony,
under the baton of Music Director
Gerhardt Zimmermann, will perform an
all-orchestral concert on Thursday. Feb.
20 at 8:00 p.m. in Raleigh Memorial
Auditorium.
Featured on the program are Dvor
ak’s Symphony No. 9 in E Minor
(“From the New World"), Richard
Strauss’s Death and Transfiguration
and Holst's Ballet Music from The Per
fect Fool.
A limited number of tickets Is avail
able from the North Carolina Sym
phony Box Office, lower level, Raleigh
Memorial Auditorium or at the door on

The annual concert by the North
Carolina State University Symphonic
Band will be held Tuesday, Feb. 18 at
8:00 p.m. in Stewart Theatre on the
NCSU campus.
The program includes works by
Shostakovich. Wagner and Salnt-Saens.
