Students choose salty air and sand for Spring Break vacation
by Kim Allen, News Editor
As the time for Spring Break
approaches, many students
from Meredith College are
planning trips.
Meredith is offering two trips,. One of
them. The Imperial Cities Tour, which
goes to Morocco, includes stops at
Casablanca, Fez. Rabat, Marrakech,
and other cities. The trip is March 1>8
and the cost is $895 per participant.
The other trip is a flight to Bermuda
March 2-9. The trip is especially for col
lege students and the cost is $619.
Many students, however, have
decided to take their own trips this
Spring. The ever-famous trip to Florida
is again a major attraction for college
students. This year, however, the stu
dents may experience problems with
celebrating Spring Break.
A new law has been passed in Florida
stating that there is to be no public
Meredith. Herald Worksliops
Will Be Held Wednesday, March 12
Consultants Rod Cocksliutt and Lariy Rudner
will host the workshops and concentrate
on news and feature reporting.
Faculty, students, administrators welcome.
Mandatory for all Herald staff members.

drinking. Any persons found with alco*
hollc beverages by the police will have
to pour the drink out.
When freshman Stefanie Stokely was
asked how she felt about the law and
how it would affect her trip, she replied.
**I think that as long as you're of the
legal drinking age and the alcoholic
beverage is concealed, then you should
be allowed to drink in public. As for its
effea on me, if the law Is strictly
enforced, I will not risk getting arrested
by a few drinks.”
When Megan Long, a freshman, was
asked why she chose Florida as the
place to spend her Spring Break, she
said, “I need a vacation.”
Many students, however, plan to use
the week to rest up from school. Angie
Stroud, a sophomore, explains, “I am
going home to take care of some menial
tasks.”
