Alumnae Association iHoids Faii Meeting The annual Fall Council of the Alumnae Association met Septem ber 23 on the M^edith campus to gather information about the col lege and plan what they can do for Meredith. Doris.Litehiield, Director of the Alumnae Association calls the Fall Council a type of “pep rally” for alumnae to come back and see the campus and find out ways they can help Meredith. Persons attending the Fall Council were the President of the Association, Sandra Kanipe, alumnae trustees, class agents and chapter leaders. Kim Hudson, Student Founda tion vice-president and president of the Granddaughters club addressed the alumnae on the intentions of the two organizations. During lunch the five vice-presidents of Meredith discussed the new, exciting and upcoming events at Meredith. A training session was also held dur ing the Fall Council to teach class agents and chapter leaders plans for a good meeting and ways to “re cruit” new Meredith students. The Alumnae Association is involved in fundraisers, recruitment and keeping in touch with the Meredith alumnae. Litchfield said that the Alumnae Association is “virtually involved in anything Meredith does,” and is eager to help with everything possible. There have been three recipients to rising jun iors with the highest averages at the end of their sophomore years; they were Alyson Honeycutt, Kelly Morris and Rhonwyn Curtis. Faircloth Salutes Housekeeper Faircloth residence Hall would like to pay a special tribute to our housekeeper, Mamie Saunders. Mamie has been wjth Meredith for 13 years. During this time she has done a tremendous job in keeping the residence hall attractive. We would like to thank her for all of the work she has done for our residence hall. We are sad because we may lose her next month if she chooses to retire. We hope she decides to stay with us, but we do wish her the best of luck if she decides that it is time to move on.
