RHB Spotlight Vann is "Reaching for the Rainbow" in 1989-90 by: Courtney Spooner Vann Dorm Piresident Reach for the Rainbow! This slogan has been Vann Residence H^dl’s theme for the year 1989'90. We believe that just as a rainbow is made of many different col ors, so are the women in our residence hall. Just as a rainbow consists of seven main colors, so it is with the leadership in Vann Residence Hall. Red represents Libby Mullinnix, Vann’s enthusiastic residence director. Libby has been with Meredith as a resi dence director for three years and will graduate from Southeastern Seminary in May. Orange is the color for Ruth Kellam, Vann’s fu^ floor resident assistant. Her enthusiasm excites not only her hall, but others too. Yellow represents Susan Hines as the R.A. on second floor. Her sunny outlook on residence life in Vann is an example to us all. Green signifies Carol Ann Johnson, Vann’s third floor R.A. Carol Ann is majoring in interior design, thus exenq>li- lying her creative outlook on residence life. Blue represents a very important person at Moiedith, Susan Mo(»e. Susan is the freshman non-resident R.A. at Meredith and Vann Residence Hall welcomes all the non-resident freshmen to call Vann their home away from home this year. And lastly, purple perfectly describes Emily Elliott as the R.A. on fourth floor Vann. She leads her hall in crazy antics each week and constantly keeps her ladies entertained. Another very important part of Vann is its Hall Council. }^1 Council hopes to accomplish many things this year. Already Vann has completed a Halloween service project welcoming children into its halls from all over the Raleigh area to trick-or- treat. Vann’s service project was a great success and we plan to have another serv ice fvoject before the year is through. In the fiiture, Vann is planning an edu- cati(»al in >\4iich our ladies will take a typing test prepared by the Office of Career Serv ice and Cooperative Education. This typing test will help Vann residents leam more about Uieir personalities. Also, in November, Vann is planning a pizza social >^ch will feature boxer and t- shirt decorating. Vann’s campus-wide proj ect Uiis year is &e Holiday Dinner. Aq)ecial Committee has been working diligently in order to have one of the best Holiday Dinners ever. Hall Council members include: Ubby Mullinnix (Residence Director), Courtney Spooner (Residence Hall President), Ruth Kellam (first floor Residence Assistant), Susan Hines (secmd flow R.A.), Carol Ann Johnson (third floor R.A.), and Emily Elliott (fourth floor R.A.), Laura Wilson, Leanne Gravel, Ashley FowIct, Beth Anne Flesh- man, Jody Cloer, Kirsten Larson, Daw- nyelle Thnish, Ashley Greer. Vann Residence Hall would also Uke to recognize a special person. Barbara Robinson is Vann's housekeeper. Barbara has been with Meredith for three years now and we have ncrt seen her take a break yet! We can never thank Barbara enough for her hard work. Because through her diligent efforts Vann is always sparkling clean. With the winning blend of colors represented by Libby, Courtney, Ruth, Susan Hines, Susan Moore, Carol Ann, Emily, Vann Residence Hall Council and the wonderful students, how can a resident help but find her pot of gold at the end of Vann's Rainbow. Vann Hall Council are (left to right, right to back): Beth Anne Heshman, Kirsten Larson, Courtney Spooner, Ashley Fowler, Leanne Gravel, Emily EUiott, Susan Lines, Jody Clower.
