It is Tim Conboy fromManhatun, NY, invited toMeredith as a guest artists for the annual Fall Dance Gathering. Conboy will be on campus for two week teaching dance classes, leading master classes for the community and choreographing and performing a piece for Meredith Dance Theatre's Dance Works ’90 on Saturday, November 17. Until recently, Conboy was employed as a principal danoer with Dan Wagoner and Dancers. He is originally from Long Island, NY, and first became serious about dancing 14 years ago when he lived in Colorado. At that time, he was a “fanatic” about physical education and getting into shape. He discovered that dancing integrated one’s mind, body and soul and this appealed to him. Conboy obtained an undergraduate degree in French and later received a graduate degree in dance at the University of New York. He dtes Maggie Black, Dan Wagoner, Kay Cummings and Don Redlich as influential instructors. Conboy’s focal study is “organic, physical, good classical ballet” He also studies modem dance choreography. Dance Works *90 includes a piece In three sections choreographed by Conboy: one section is a solo which he performs; another is a duet performed by Conboy and dance instniaor Alyson Colwell; the third includes members of the Meredith Dance l^eatre. Conboy plans to begin his own company in the future.
