Tp; HAMPTON MRINE MUSEUM at 120 Turner St, in Beaufort has a new, fresh
lue and white look, Charles McNeill, its curator, tells us there is, as
they say, more to come: the stuffed fish specimens, done by V/PA back in
the thirties, are being replaced by new ones, and soon, two pafaels will be
freeze dried crustaceans (lobster, crab, etc.). Then there ie
a iifty year old skiff being restored in another area, and on loan from the
Smithsonian presently will be ten models of sailing vessels. From Raleigh
the museum will be receiving specimens of w^ter fowls.
During June weekly field trips with a marine biologist into the local mar-
snes will be offered, and the last two weeks of June as well as all of July
will see a summer science school in operation with the museum as headquar-
ers. The course will be conducted by wives of scientists for 4th and 5th
graders and the things they collect will be displayed at a latgr date. The
course will include elementary entymology and marine biology.
