After being rehabilitated in a facility on Roanoke Island, it was returned to Pine Knoll Shores to be released (pictured in the tub in the foreground and, below, as it returns to the ocean). IT First Day of School Photos We would like to feature our youngest residents on their first day of school in an upcoming ^ issue of The Shoreline. Please submit your high resolution pictures to shoreline@ townofpks.com by Wednesday, September 12, and include childrens names, grade, school, photographer s name and any other information you would like to share. There’s even room to keep a separate list of current medications, which may need updating more frequently than the rest of the information. Once completed, the form folds neatly inside the holder, which can be placed on the refrigerator for emergency responders’ use. The File of Life holders are available to Pine Knoll Shores residents at the public safety building and at town hall. Stop by and pick up one, complete the form and place it on your refrigerator— and be sure to keep it up to date as your situation changes. Complete and display it before an emergency occurs; it may speak for you at a time when you cannot. PKS History Committee Seeks New Members STORY ^ f ▼ If Reflections of Pine Knoll Shores The Pine Knoll Shores History Committee is actively seeking new members. Please join us at town hall for a wine and cheese reception from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, September 14, to meet committee members and learn more about the work we do. We are looking forward to meeting with folks who are interested in the town, the preservation of its history and efforts that offer insight into the community and our way of life. Prior experience is not required, and all skills are needed. We ask for only an active interest in the community and a willingness to participate. The History Committee meets once monthly on the first Tuesday of the month at 1 p.m. at town hall. September 2018 I The Shoreline 15
