Meditation in Motion
In August, members of the Taoist Tai Chi society, led by instructor
Terri Thomas, gave a Tai Chi demonstration at the Bogue Banks
Library. Tai Chi, which derives from Chinese martial arts, is a
gentle form of exercise that buiids balance and stability and has
been described as meditation in motion. It was well attended and
all joined in to learn some of the basic moves. The demonstration
was partialiy responsible for a large number of new participants
attending a beginners’ class held at the Morehead City Parks and
Recreation building. Further beginner classes will be held at the
same venue, on Wednesdays and Fridays at noon. A tip of the hat
to Donna Freeman of the library staff for arranging this event.
