Weather permitting, the work ■ will continue through the first week of May. Folks with hammers, crowbars, drills, skill saws and helping hands are needed. Whether you can volunteer for a day or the whole week, your help will be greatly appreciated. Another project to be coinpleted is the Hall Haven center dock repair. Tuesday, May 14, and Thursday, May 16, are designated as the work days to complete this task. Volunteers with tools are needed. The PKA annual meeting is scheduled for June 21 at 7 p.m. at town hall, preceded by a social at 6:30. All PKA residents are encouraged to attend to meet your neighbors and to learn how you and your association can work together to better our community. As reported last month, we continue to receive reports of debris in the canal. If you live along the canal and can assist in removing the debris, please do so. If not, please report it with the most precise location possible to the PKA office as shown below. Additionally, for canal property owners, it will assist us greatly if you will place your street address number somewhere on the back of your home or your seawall to enable us to more accurately determine locations. This is especially important in emergency situations. From time to time we receive reports of broken water pipes along docks, but we are unable to pinpoint the exact location from the water. Your assistance in this request will be very helpful. All property owners are reminded that, though a considerable time has passed since Hurricane Florence, there continues to be a significant amount of debris remaining to be cleared from some properties. There are a number of tree companies and lawn care companies that can assist you with this endeavor. Our PKA covenants require all homeowners to maintain their property. Please do so promptly before we have to take further action. Spring time brings dues time. We are experimenting with payment of dues by credit card, so please be watching your email, the PKA website and Facebook for more information about that option. A convenience fee of $3.30 will be added to the $100 charge. Improvements are being made. Twelve trees were recently planted at Brock Basin, Hall Haven, and Ramsey Park. Some of these trees were purchased through a program led by the Community Appearance Commission and the Arbor Day Foundation. Volunteers will be caring for the trees to ensure their healthy growth. Not only is the sittum at Ocean Park getting a facelift, but new umbrellas will also be installed once the construction work is complete. Everyone is encouraged to attend the monthly sittum get-together, held the first Sunday of each month at 5:30 p.m. Bring your own beverage and a snack to share, enjoy some fellowship with your neighbors, and take advantage of the fine work that has been completed by your PKA and volunteers.
