Votes for the five candidates were as follows: Natalie Hiltz, 212; H. K. Haller, 210; W. L. Dixson, 209; John Collier, 94; and 0. K. Foster, 66. It was interesting to note that Pine Kholl Shores maintained its relatively high turnout of voters in this election, with about 70 per cent of the registered voters casting ballots. ^ COMICCSSIONERS ACT ON MUNICIPAL CONCERNS At the November 7 meeting of the Board of Commissioners, the Board said it was aware of the stray animal problem in the would take appropriate action promptly (see following , . , ^ story), and also that additional "Children At Play" signs would be erected. Further, arrangements are being made to increase the number of street lights on Salter Path Road and several intersections. Commissioner V/ajme Cleveland reported that at a recent meeting with the State •^ansportation Department an agreement was reached to replace the median at Mimosa Boulevard and Salter Path Road, and that every effort will be made to leave the median at Oakleaf Road and Salter Path Road. He said the State had agreed to erect a curbing and install good soil at the Mimosa site. Paul Hamlin, the town»s auditor, presented an audit report for the fiscal year ending June 30. 1979, and a copy of this report is on file in the office of the tom dsiPlCtt Upcoming Toim Hall meetings: On Tuesday, December 4, at 3 p.m., will be the swearing—in ceremonies for the newly elected Commissioners. ^ Also, on Thursday', December 6 at 8 p.m., will be a public hearing to amend the zoning ordinance. ‘ GARDEN CLUB VJILL The Pine !holl^Shores Garden Club, again this year will sponsor its ar^raal Christman Eve "Luminaria" project. The event is the lighting of candles along driveways, sidewalks and bulkheads o 1-, which results in a most spectacular display. Last vear almost 3,000 candles were lighted on Christmas Eve.
