The club is planning a busy season in r t'^paration for the holidays.
Veryi Wa-^^lace and her committee are prepax^iiig for the annual Christmas
Eve Luminaria; there will be two wreath-making workshops to be held
at the Marine Resources Center, on November 1? members will gather
to prepare live wreaths, and on November 19 they also will make
more permanent wreaths.
The December meeting will be held at Bogue Banks Country Club where
the members will enjoy a program of Christmas music by Mary Doll.

far and away the prettiest and most inspiring
NOW IN 7th YEAR aspect of life in Pine Knoll Shores at
Christmas time, is now in its seventh year.
The candles are strung along driveways, roadways and bulkheads and
lighted just after dark on Christmas Eve resulting in a spectacular
display and attracting visitors from throughout the area.
Vern V;allace, chairman of the program for the Garden Club, said
that last year some 3>000 candles ”lit up" the town. This year
you are urged to place your order by December ^ by calling Vern
at 726-7^90, or Vivian Macdonald, at 726-6727. Residents are urged
to place their orders early because when the supply is gone there
will be no more available.
PKS AND THE Except for Governor Jim Hunt and several
members of the Board of County Commissioners,
ELECTION Pine Knoll Shores voted the Republican ticket
in the recent election. \'Ih±le Ronald Reagan
won the support of PKS voters by a large majority. Governor Hunt was
ahead by only 12 votes. For County Commissioner home-tovmer Doug
Fleming won handily, as was expected. A total of 432 Pine Knoll
Shores voters turned out to cast ballots.
TOW HALL ART DISPLAY Local artists have a chance to show off their
talents each month at the Town Hall. A
NEEDS MORE ARTISTS section of the entrance has been set aside and
the show is attracting much favorable comment.
First display was some of the work of John Elder. Presently on
display are some excimples of portraits and landscapes by Larry
Jerome. This will be followed by a display of the work of Lucy
Elmendorf and Dot Cutler. Others who would like to participate
should call the Town Hall so an appropriate date can be set for
them. And if you have missed any of these displays, do yourself
a favor and visit the Town Hall as soon as you can.
WELCOME TO OUR Carol and Bob Montgomery live at 127 Oakleaf
Drive. They came from Maumee, OH (a suburb of
NEW NEIGHBORS Toledo) where they owned a party store. Also
Bob built custom-made golf clubs and repaired
clubs. They built an Arnold Palmer Driving
Range. Bob worked as a part-time charter airplanepilot—he is a
licensed instrument-rated pilot. Now* Bob is employed at Cherry
