V/ith their polished stones they have made many pieces of jev/elry.
Mary said, "It became too crov/ded on the beaches of New Jersey,
where we had beach homes, so we began looking for an uncrowded
place. Through a Wall Street Journal advertisement we learned
about Pine Knoll Shores." They came looking for a place to
retire, bought a lot and built their home three years ago. Mary
taught school until December 22 to complete 30 years of teaching.
She has v^ritten short stories and two novels and hopes to do more
writing. They have three boys and a girl and all are married.
A son is in Atlanta, and another son and daughter live in New
Jersey. Another son is in a Phd. program in physcial chemistry
at the University of Florida at Gainsville. They have four grand

on the emergency number for information. Calls of this type have

communications system has been jainmed blocking out real emergency

A NEW POLICEMAN... Floyd Emile V/illis, a native of Pas Cagonla, Miss.
but raised in Carteret County, has joined Pine
Knoll Shores Police Department. He graduated from East Carteret
High School in 1975, and then joined the U.S. Army. He served
three years in Bamberg, Germany patrolling the communist border
of East Germany. He was honorably discharged in November 1979>
having been av/arded the Good Conduct Medal and expert rifle and
pistal awards. He and his v/ife Jessica reside in Atlantic Beach.
IVe are happy to have him with us.
