He is a member of the tennis committee at the country club, and is active in maintaining Ocean Park. His hobbies are golf, tennis, sailing and wood working. FROM MARCH MEETING The smbject of home burglar alarms was discussed at some length, due mainly to the fact that some of these alarms, for one reason or another, have begun operating and have continued to sound for hours before being shut off. This creates a nuisance that is annoying to neighbors arid also defeats the purpose of the alarm. The Board suggests to homeowners who have installed such an alarm to leave a key with neighbors so the system can be shut off when it goes on accidentally. Upon finishing his monthly police department report, Commissioner Jack Thompson accepted on behalf of the members of the Police Department, praise from members of the audience for an excellent job the police do in home surveillance when residents are away. The police, he said, will be happy ”to keep an eye on” any town residence upon written request from the owner. Appropriate forms are available at Towii Hall. Commissioner Jerome reported that four citizens of Pine Knoll Shores are involved in the retired senior executives volunteer program, initiated by Gov. Hunt durinfT, his visit last summer.
