Another son is a student at the University of Virginia, Their daughter's dog, Tiny, a huge but friendly shepherd, came for a visit 2i years ago. He likes the ocean, too. She is a certified teacher of Ikebana. The Beards, Jeanne and Russell, live in a secluded spot at 139 Dogwood Circle, It is well back from the road and partially shielded from the ocean. They moved there from Ekerald Isle where they have been living for the last three years. Before that they lived in Falls Church, Virginia. Russ was DepulyDirector of the Advanced Research Project Agency, Department of Defense. In spite of their many years in Virginia, "home” is really Texas. Since retirement Russ has been busy as consultant for various firms and served his community as a member of the Carteret County Planning Commission, The Beards are particularly interested in gardening and, once they have put their new home in order, fishing, walking the beach and playing golf. Square dancing is another favorite activity of theirs and they hope to take that up again. One of the reasons they chose this area is because of its convenient location. They have five daughters and five grandchildren who should be able to visit often. Four of their daughters are on the east coast: Pensacola, Wilmington and Fairfax, Va, The fifth ^^ixghter lives in Denver. 9 MARY KORFF « oOo - Dear Friends and Neighbors, •r Thank you for the many kindnesses you have shown during my recent illness, especi ally the prayers.
