Page ~7— Menbers of the Pine Knoll Shores Garden Club spent a delightful Wednesday on October 10th, as guests of David and Jeanne Clement of Sneads Ferry, Members toured the 15 acre honesite with Mrs, Clement as their guide, explaining her extensive herb gardens, orchards, greenhouse, potting shed, etc,, and sending GARDEN CUgBERS all her guests home with several gifts of potted herbs, plant TOUR SNEADS FERRY cuttings, and seed pods. The Clements, who garden as a hobby, not a commercial enterprise, also welcomed the ladies to their home for lunch. This included tasty proof of the use of herbs in cooking. At a brief meeting preceding the tour. President Lois Jean O’Keefe welcomed members to a new club year - a year's activities which started a month late due to HurricaiP Diana, She introduced Kay Kalkines and Dovie Wingard who were guests at the meeting, Jean 2«umbach reminded members to be on hand on Wednesday, October 24, for Green Bag Day, Pick-up starts from Brock Basin at 900 a.m, Audrey Hoffmeyer asked members to collect and press leaves for a tree identifi cation program scheduled for the M^ch meeting, A committee will be formed to study means of improving the appearance of the medians at the entrances to town on Oakleaf Drive and Mimosa Boulevard, -oOo
