The deed would have to be registered in 1985 if accepted, SPECIAL MEETING under the conditions of the offer. Given the assurance that the State permit was on its way and no action had been taken by any third party to delay construction, the developers asked the Town to accept the deed. All com missioners were in favor of accepting the deed but a motion was made to accept the transfer with the condition that: "If the developers were restricted or prohibited from proceeding the building or starting their project by the failure of the issuance of permits I^Pnin one year, the pjroperty would be rettmed to the developers." This proved to be controversial and voting resulted in a tie. Mayor Hanan then cast the deciding vote to pass the motion and the condition stands. The planning board will be asked to recommend zoning of this property. ------- oOo ------- No comments were offered from the floor concerning the new ordinance, replacing the existing ordinance El.5.1 regarding landscape permits. The new ordinance requires that MM Tr i^ARTKir r»j building inspector issue a landscape permit before any clearing can be done and requires reestablishing of areas disturbed. ■■ After the meeting it was pointed out by planning board members that we must all be on the alert for violations of this ordinance, since it can happen that bulldozers, particularly, can come in and do the damage before author ities are able to prevent it. If you see such clearing taking place and there is not a permit clearly visible, report it to the Town Hall without delay. You may be saving the life of a tree or other vegetation — to say nothing of preventing an unnecessary flood condition from developing. ------- oOo ------- TOWN OF PINE KNOLL SHORES, N.C.
