If the employee enters the plan the town's only responsibility is to withhold the payments from pay checks. He also proposed purchase of Workmen's Compensation Insurance from Interlocal Risk Management Agency, present carrier to be dropped. Both resolutions were passed. Commissioner Shedd reported on progress of the Flood Control Committee. They are planning another meeting with Van Oessen Associates, engineering firm, later this month. Meanwhile he asked the commissioners to pass a resolution requesting the state to allocate funds to the project. Shedd also cautioned residents to be careful that any liquids put into trash cans be thoroughly sealed in unbreakable containers so that they do not spill when garbage is collected. An incident recently caused green paint to be spilled on one of our streets. Paint is hazardous waste and lots of other liquids are too. Please be extra careful when disposing of these materials. Commissioner White is concerned about speeding in the town. Oakleaf Drive in particular seems to have become a speedway. Overall speeding TOWN OF PINE KNOLL SHORES. N.C.
