Business on the agenda included a report from the committee on dredging and recommendations from the Planning Board and the Community Appearance Com mission. Commissioner Johnson reported 78% of revenues collected and 65% of expenditures dis pensed to date. Taxes are 99% collected. He presented a resolution allowing for the sale of the telephone equipment recently replaced. Corinne Geer, Budget Officer, presented the budget which will be available to the public at the Town Hall from now until the budget hearing June 14th. It calls for a rate of .19 per 100 of valuation, unchanged from last year. Commissioner Roderick asked Dick Mansfield to read the report on dredging the channel •in the Sound in the area of the Sullivan residence. Dick and Duncan Dawkins had prepared this report. Subsequently the Commissioners voted to proceed with applications for dredging permits, disposal of the spoils and to bear the expense of the project even though the Town does not have, nor will it acknowledge, any responsibility for these channels now or in the future. It is taking these measures in the interest of its citizens. Commissioner Shedd recommended the final approval of Egret Lake Phase 2 as recommended by the Planning Board. He also recommended preliminary approval of Forest Dunes Phase 2 and Fiddlers Ridge, Lots 1-11. This was voted. He gave the Building Inspector's report for April. There were no commercial or residential permits issued, only miscellaneous permits for property improvements. Rescue Squad had 4 calls in April, Commissioner Sotir reported. They had held elections and asked that the Commissioners approved their selection of Chuck Zaminer as Chief and Jerry Michaels as Assistant Chief. This was done. TOWN OF PINE KNOLL SHORES, N.C.
