COMMISSIONERS MEET
Commissioners began their meeting by reporting their functon's
activity in the month of March.
Commissioner Johnson reported that 84% of revenues have been collected
and 67% of expenditures have been made in this fiscal year to date. Over
99% of taxes have been collected to date and the $3,000 still outstanding
are expected to be collected before the year is over.
Commissioner Roderick reported that the boat and trailer parking lot
had been cleaned up. [For details see below.]
Another special trash pickup has been scheduled for Wednesday, April
26th. This is for items too large, etc., to be picked up on regular days.
However, NO HAZARDOUS MATERIALS SUCH AS BATTERIES, PAINT, SOLVENTS OR OILS
can be included. It is still not clear what can be done with these items
and Roderick is looking into that. Have your trash on the right-of-wav by
8 a.m.
Surveyors for Von Oesen Assoc, will be working in the area of the
proposed flood damage control starting this coming week.
Commissioner Shedd made the building report. There was one
residential permit issued, no commercial permits, 9 miscellaneous permits,
and 4 certificates of occupancy.
The Planning Board, having studied the Pine Knoll Village residental
plat plan noted that the flood plain information was incorrect but other
wise approved it and recommended approval by the commissioners. The
commissioners did so.
On Commissioner Shedd's recommendation the Commissioners appointed
Chuck Zaminer to complete the term of Harry Schlimper who has resigned for
reasons of ill health.
The Community Appearance Commission had submitted its annual report.
