Our volunteers are a vital part of our operation, and spring and summer are peak times for volunteer activities. Last year, over 1600 volunteer hours were contributed to diverse projects such as touch tank programs, sea turtle feeding, specimen collecting, plant care and landscaping, carpentry nature walks, turtle nest monitoring, and photography. The Aquarium currectly has over 75 active volunteers. We will honor this group, and recognize their hard work with a volunteer appreciation luncheon, on Tuesday, June 18, at 12:30 p.m. If you are interested in joining the Aquarium's volunteer staff, contact Bob Patton, at 247-4004. Recruitment continues for a variety of tasks including touch tank duty, sea turtle "walkers", plant care, and information desk. Jay Barnes, Director
