d. IF fully prepared, don’t wait for the evacuation order. Leave now and avoid traffic, particularly if nightfall is due in less than four houj^^ CONDITION 1 -- EVACUATION a. Evacuation order will be announced simultaneously by the Bogue Banks Control Group and County authorities. Civil Preparedness Block Captains will attempt to notify every residence. Police will cruise town streets using loud speakers, and continue to patrol, checking on evacuation until 'fchey are ordered to leave — Five Blasts on Fire Alarm. b. Lock up and leave Immediately. Do not panic. There is time for all to reach shelter. Evacuation 75 miles or more is recommended. c. Those who refuse to evacuate on order, stay at their own risk. They are required to provide the police at Town Hall with the name and address of their next of kin, to expedite reporting casualties and losses after the storm. There will be no fire or rescue service after the evacuation order -- volunteers will have evacuated. d. Police have the right to stop and challenge any unauthorized vehicle on the streets after the evacuation order and before re-entry is officially authorized by the Carteret County Emergency Management Center and the Bogue Banks Control Group. e. EVACUATION ROUTE - All Pine Knoll Shores residents and visitors, including those in Ocean Bay and Ocean Glen condominiums will leave via the Atlantic Beach bridge. Road blocks will be established at the western boundary. All persons on the north side of Salter Path Road must enter from Pine Knoll Blvd., Mimosa Blvd. or Oakleaf Drive. There will be police officer^ to assist you in the traffic.
