Cathy Vinson of the Division of Coastal Management spoke to the Com
missioners and audience about the new requirements of CAMA regarding the
update of the Land Use Plan. Ms. Vinson stressed the importance of the
public's participation in this program by attending meetings and returning
completed 1991 Land Use Survey forms as soon as possible.
A public hearing was then held for discussion on the Ordinance im
plementing the Statutory Vested Right Provisions. Complete information is
available to the public at Town Hall.
Mayor Hanan called the meeting of the Town Board to order. Commissioner
Blanchard asked that canal front property owners check any outside lights
on docks and shade them if necessary so that they are not an annoyance to
their neighbors. He also noted that right of ways are still being cleared
and two new street lights have been installed.
•Commissioner Gallo reported that 60% of the funds appropriated for the
removal of the gas tank have been used, and it doesn't appear that the total
amount of allocated monies will be spent. Mr. Lee Carroll of Caruthers S
Carroll Accounting gave the auditor's report for the town. He commended
the Board in relation to our town economy and reductions. His report is
available at Town Hall for interested persons. Mr.Carroll also thanked the
Town Board and Town Hall staff for their cooperation.
Commissioner Gibson reported the Police Department answered 100 calls
and made 213 house checks for October. He also commended Officer Macklin
and Sgt. Hamilton for their completed special training, and the five
officers who completed pistol requa1ifications.
Commissioner Hasulak noted that there were 13 rescue calls and 1 fire
call in October. He stressed the need for HOUSE NUMBERS WHICH CAN BE SEEN
FROM THE STREET without the emergency vehicles having to waste time search
ing for the right house. He also wants to remind residents that our
