She reported that as of December, 74% of the town taxes were collected, but as of January 10, 1992, 97% have been paid. She announced that information regarding the budget for the new year will be given to the Board members at the February meeting. Commissioner Hasulak reported 9 rescue calls for December, totalling 124 for the year. The fire department had no calls for December, with 10 calls for 1991. With the yew year comes the need for re-entry passes to be stamped for the forthcoming hurricane season. Commissioner Hasulak stressed again that NO Passes will be stamped after evacuation is announced. •Commissioner Musgrave announced that Officer Hellerspeck completed 80 hours of Breathalyzer school. There were 74 calls answered in December and 548 house checks. Commissioner Schultz reported 4 new building permits, 11 miscellaneous permits, and 3 certificates of occupancy for December. He noted that there were 35 new home permits, 118 miscellaneous and 29 certificates of occupancy for 1991. Mr. Schultz announced a Land Use Committee meeting on January 28, 1992, at 2 p.m. He also thanked everyone for their responses to the survey sent out last fall. Mayor Kanyha announced a vacancy on the Community Appearance Commission. Commis sioner Schultz nominated David Alexander to fill this opening, and Marvin Wiseman to replace Mr. Alexander as Alternate on the Board of Adjustment. This was voted and approved. Mayer Kanyha also announced a workshop was held on January 10, 1992 with the Town Commissioners, Mr. Preston Howard from the N. C. Division of DEM, Wilmington and interested persons. This meeting was on a study to be done by Duke University on water quality in our canals, and will take a year so that seasonal changes can be monitored. TOWN OF PINE KNOLL SHORES. N.C.
