The Commitee has decided to postpone this event until next year. Keith and Alice Jean Nobles Bill and Janet Birkel Betty and Bud Haughey OOPSl Due to an administrative paper problem, the article for the December Shoreline from the "Ancient Mariners" was not printed so here it is. ANCIENT MARINERS We have now completed six weeks of bowling and the standings are as follows: First; Wally Williams, Captain, with Ellie Long, Charles Schaeffler and Fay Szypulski backing him up. They have won 15 1/2 points out of a possible 20, an impressive record. Second: A Tie at 13 won, 7 lost for the teams of Bob Kent and Bob Herbst. Dot Herbst is on Kent's team so Herbst had better watch out! While there have not been any games over 200 lately. Bob Gallo and Art Stone had high series sans handicap of 556 and 494 respectively. Millie Hertst and Jan Maxwell with 519 and 475 were right up there with the men. Good bowlers all. Fred Korff After a period of two weeks with no exceptionally high individual scores, Hank and Rene Ingram started the ball rolling with (no pun intended) again with scores of 204 and 185 respectively. Once the door was opened, John Keegan threw a 209, Ted Goetzinger a 205 and Bob Gallo tied Al Van Essendelft for the season's high with a 222. Captain Wally Williams' team of Ellie Long, Charles Schaeffler and Faye Szypulski is still in first place with won-lost scores of 26 1/2 - 9 1/2, which standings are 4 1/2 points above the second place team Fred Korff Volunteer Services (from Pg. 1) As you know our community is served by volunteers who generously donate their time and skills, a fine tribute to the spirit of community. These volunteer services considerably reduce our town taxes - if we were forced to pay full time employees for this time served, taxes would skyrocket upward. The Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services are constantly looking for volunteers and would welcome the addition of any residents. The Emergency Medical Service is in need of both drivers and EMTs. For information regarding the training necessary for either the Emergency Medical Service or the Fire Department, contact Teddy Wimberly, Chief, Pine Knoll Shores Emergency Medical Services, phone 247-3666, Andy Tumey, Captain, Pine Knoll Shores Fire Department, 247-5852, or David Hasulak, Commissioner, 247-43532 (Town Hall). Bart S heard Asst. Chief, PKSEMS Bogue Banks Library December is going to be a very busy month for us here. We are having demonstrations from various copier companies for the next several weeks. We hope to have a new copier from one of them in the near future. Paul O'Keefe's bear collection will be on display for the month of December and we'd like to invite children of all ages to come and see it. Also we have a beautiful tree loaned to us and decorated by the PKS Garden Club. Tax classes and travel films will be offered here at the library for our patrons during the month of January. Please call the library for more information if interested in any of these. Book (continued on Pg. 6)
