2nd Notice!
Yard Waste Pickup
Beginning January 1,1993, the restrictions
placed on depositing yard waste in the
sanitary land fill will become effective.
Waste Industries, the contractor that
collects for the Town, will be allowed to
continue accepting yard waste after that
date but it will be collected on the last
Tuesday of the month. Yard waste cannot
be mixed with any other type of gartiage nor
can it be in any type of disposable trash bag
or box. It can be deposited in trash cans or
left on the ground near the street where it
can be collected by the Town's contractor.
Yard waste is defined as solid waste
consisting of vegetative matter resulting
from landscaping maintenance such as pine
needles, grass, limbs and trimmings. Limbs
and similar items will be accepted only if
bundling and in lengths of four feet or less.
Major lot clean up and brushing will not be
collected by the Town's contractor and will
require arrangements between the property
owner and his or her contractor.
