Revision of Emergency Management Ran and Post Disaster Recovery Ran. Submitted By; Mayor Kanyha What does a 1993 Giri Scout look like? What does she do? Where can you find one in Carteret County? Well, she looks like any other giri between the ages of 5 and 18. She may wear a Girl Scout uniform or a tee shirt, made in a troop meeting, with a pair of jeans. Whatever she wears, if she's a Girl Scout, she may be recognized by what she does. She's aware of her community and the environment. She may participate in the Beach Sweep or plant trees with her troop. She may visit nursing homes or dress bears and dolls for the Salvation Army. A Giri Scout tries to make the worid a better place. You can find Giri Scouts all over Carteret County. We have over 250 giris in troops from Davis to Newport. We have an active troop from Rne Knoll Shores. We could have more troops if we had more adult volunteers. And our world would be a better place. Giri Scout programs are a team effort involving giris, parents or guardians, and other adjlts. Women and men who take part in Giri scouting find it a rewarding experience-a chance to use their time, experience and talents to help giris grow into happy, responsible young women. Of course, troop leaders are needed, but we also need people to share their talents with a groip of giris. If you have a special talent like painting, weaving, needleworic. photography or a sport and you would like to spend time with us, please call Sharon Lord, Field Director, at 636-0694. We sure need you!!. Thank You. Our annual Cookie Sale begins January 23. If you would like to support the Giri Scouts by buying cookies, please call Kim Riley of 136 Yaupon Road, at 247-6673.
