BEACH EROSION STUDY COMMITTEE The Ad Hoc Committee to Study Beach Erosion, established by PKS Mayor, David Hasulak, and chaired by Dr. Ruth Sweeny, has been meet ing regularly to discuss short-term and long-term solutions to the pro blem of the increasing erosion of beach and dune areas. Beach front property owners are responsible for their own property including the cost of labor and material for the protection and replenishment of the dunes. The beaches, however, belong to everybody; therefore, these issues need to be addressed with this in mind. A letter was sent recently to beachfront pro perty owners suggesting formation of a separate organization, similar to a "homeowners association" in order to work as a consolidated and unified body for the purpose of permitting, purchase of supplies, materials and labor. The response to this letter was very positive and the suggestions written on some of the responses very informative. The Ad Hoc Committee will be con tinuing this endeavor. Future articles in the "Shoreline" will keep the public informed.
